During RCB’s away IPL 2024 clash against KKR on April 21, Virat Kohli’s dismissal sparked controversy. Opening the innings, Kohli was caught off Harshit Rana’s high full toss, leading to a dispute over whether it was a no-ball. However, replays confirmed the dismissal.
Despite Kohli’s early exit, RCB nearly pulled off a remarkable victory, falling just one run short of KKR’s 222-run total in a thrilling encounter. After the defeat, Kohli shared batting tips with several KKR youngsters, displaying true sportsmanship.
In the match, KKR posted a competitive 222-6, propelled by Phil Salt’s explosive 48 and a composed fifty from captain Shreyas Iyer. Ramandeep Singh and Andre Russell also contributed crucial runs in the death overs.
Chasing a challenging 223, Kohli smashed a boundary and two sixes before falling to Rana’s delivery. Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar led RCB’s fightback, with Dinesh Karthik and Karn Sharma adding quick runs lower down the order. However, Sharma’s dismissal in the penultimate delivery swung the match in KKR’s favor.
Next, Kohli’s RCB will lock horns with SRH on April 25 in match number 41 of IPL 2024.
