Virat Kohli Skips India's Practice Before Ireland Match; Reason Revealed Here

All eyes are on Virat Kohli, India’s batting maestro, who is eager to add the T20 World Cup trophy to his already impressive collection of ICC titles. However, his participation has caused some concern as he missed India’s warm-up match against Bangladesh and several practice sessions due to his late arrival in the USA.

According to OneCricket correspondent Vimal Kumar, Kohli skipped Sunday’s training at Cantiague Park. While South Africa and Sri Lanka geared up for their clash today in Group D of the T20 World Cup 2024, India opted for rest. Although the exact timings are unclear, Kohli is expected to rejoin the team’s training session today.

Despite his delayed travel, permitted by the BCCI, Kohli participated in pre-match drills for India’s game against Bangladesh. The 35-year-old is in peak form, having secured his second Orange Cap by topping the IPL 2024 run charts with a staggering 741 runs for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Notably, Kohli also holds the title of the highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup history, accumulating an impressive 1,141 runs in 27 matches since 2012.

This T20 World Cup promises to be an exciting one for Indian fans, with Rohit Sharma‘s leadership and Virat Kohli‘s batting prowess at the forefront.
