Chakravarthy made a strong return to international cricket, showcasing his spin mastery throughout the series. In the first T20I at Eden Gardens, he claimed 3/23 and was named Player of the Match. Furthermore, his standout performance came in Rajkot, where he dismantled the English batting lineup, taking 5/24. By the end of January, Chakravarthy had taken 12 wickets at an impressive average of 9.41, along with an economy rate of 7.01.

Chakravarthy’s nomination comes alongside two other deserving candidates: Jomel Warrican and Noman Ali. Warrican had a career-defining series in Pakistan, where he played a key role in helping the West Indies draw the series. He claimed a career-best 10/101 in the first Test and returned with nine wickets for 70 runs, including a five-wicket haul, in the second Test. Warrican’s all-around efforts earned him the Player of the Series award.

Pakistan’s Noman Ali is the third nominee after his outstanding performance against the West Indies. He claimed six wickets in the first Test and made history by taking a hat-trick in the second Test—the first by a Pakistan spinner in Test cricket. Noman finished the series with 16 wickets, including match figures of 10/121.

These players’ exceptional performances have, therefore, earned them well-deserved recognition for their remarkable achievements in January.
