Travis Head, known for his explosive batting, has showered praise on his Sunrisers Hyderabad opening partner Abhishek Sharma, hailing him as an exciting talent for Indian cricket. The dynamic duo played a pivotal role in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s remarkable victory over the Lucknow Super Giants, where they chased down a target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs, setting a record for the highest ever 10-over score in men’s T20 cricket.

Head, unbeaten on 89 off 30 balls, and Sharma, unbeaten on 75 off 28 balls, showcased an incredible display of power hitting, effortlessly dispatching boundaries and sixes.

In the post match press conference, Head expressed admiration for Sharma’s talent and highlighted their strong partnership, emphasizing how they complement each other’s playing styles.

Head, who is in fine form ahead of the T20 World Cup, has been in outstanding form, amassing 533 runs in 11 innings at a staggering strike rate of 201.89. Similarly, Sharma has been striking the ball with authority, maintaining a strike rate of over 200.

While acknowledging the importance of consistency, Head emphasized the need to remain focused and continue performing well, especially with the upcoming tournament in the West Indies. He also highlighted the significance of adapting to different conditions, particularly against spin bowling.

Sharma’s talent has also caught the attention of cricketing legend Brian Lara, who praised the young left hander for his humility and eagerness to learn. Lara, a former coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, spoke highly of Sharma’s potential, reflecting on their positive relationship and the youngster’s dedication to improvement.

Overall, Head’s admiration for Sharma under scores the promising future of Indian cricket, with the young batsman making a significant impact on the IPL stage.
