As a consequence, Towhid Hridoy violation of Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, specifically Article 2.20, which pertains to conduct contrary to the spirit of the game, has resulted in a 15% fine of his match fee. Furthermore, his disciplinary record has received an additional demerit point, marking his first offense within a two-year period.

Towhid Hridoy admitted to the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Andy Pycroft, eliminating the need for a formal hearing. On-field umpires Sharfuddoula Saikat and Tanvir Ahmed, along with third umpire Gazi Sohel and fourth umpire Masudur Rahman, brought forth the charges.

Sri Lanka emerged victorious in the match by 28 runs, clinching the three-match series 2-1.

In response, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto remarked that Sri Lanka should move on from the incident and focus on the present, expressing indifference towards their actions.
