Tim Robinson, a rising talent in New Zealand cricket, has earned a spot in the national T20I squad despite his limited experience, having played only 20 domestic T20 matches. Known for his aggressive batting style and penchant for hitting sixes, Robinson’s recent exploits in the Super Smash tournament, where he smashed a sensational 139 off 64 balls with 10 sixes against Otago, caught the selectors’ attention.

Expressing his excitement about the opportunity to represent his country, Robinson emphasized his childhood dream of hitting sixes on the international stage. Admitting to feeling overwhelmed, he acknowledged the challenges ahead for his international debut against Pakistan in the upcoming T20I series.
Reflecting on his remarkable century against Otago, Robinson highlighted the confidence he gained from the innings but remained grounded, recognizing the unique challenges of international cricket.
“I love hitting sixes and trying to entertain people, and to be honest, it’s addictive when you get one out of the middle and it goes a mile,” Robinson expressed, reflecting on his batting style and aspirations.
Acknowledging the support and guidance he has received from his Wellington teammate Michael Bracewell, Robinson lauded Bracewell as a role model and expressed gratitude for having him as a teammate on the upcoming tour of Pakistan. He credited Bracewell for his mentorship and camaraderie, highlighting their friendly competition in hitting the ball the farthest.
With Bracewell leading the team in Pakistan, Robinson is eager to make the most of the opportunity and contribute to the team’s success on the international stage.
