Veteran cricketer Marcus Stoinis played a pivotal role for Australia in their T20 World Cup opener against Oman at Kensington Oval, Barbados. After propelling Australia to a competitive total with his explosive batting, Stoinis showcased his bowling skills by taking three crucial wickets for just 19 runs in his three-over spell.

Stoinis made early breakthroughs by dismissing Oman’s captain Aqib Ilyas and former skipper Zeeshan Maqsood. Later, he returned to strike another blow by removing Mehran Khan, with Tim David contributing to the dismissal with a spectacular catch near the boundary.
In his final over, Stoinis initially conceded a boundary but quickly bounced back to dismiss Mehran Khan with a well-disguised low full toss. Mehran attempted a powerful shot towards wide long-on, only for Tim David to execute a superb catch near the ropes, ensuring Oman suffered a setback.
Australia successfully defended their total, clinching their first victory of the tournament. They will now face arch-rivals England in their upcoming match at the same venue.
