In a significant match, Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by a margin of 60 runs, marking Lahore’s sixth consecutive loss in the PSL. Usama Mir made history by becoming the first spinner in PSL history to claim a six-wicket haul, restricting Lahore to 154 all out in 17 overs.
Despite resting key overseas players, Multan Sultans posted a formidable total of 214 for 4, the highest score of the season. Usman Khan of UAE led the charge with an impressive 96 off 55 balls, supported by Iftikhar Ahmed’s unbeaten 40 off 18 balls.
Although Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan fell early, Usman Khan’s aggressive batting, coupled with partnerships with Reeza Hendricks and Tayyab Tahir, propelled Multan’s innings. Usman struck 11 fours and two sixes before exiting in the final over.
In response, Usama Mir’s exceptional bowling performance dismantled Lahore’s middle order swiftly, claiming crucial wickets including Rassie van der Dussen and George Linde. Mir’s six-wicket haul proved decisive as Multan secured their fifth win of the season in six games, propelling them to the top of the table.
