On the opening day of the fifth and final Test match between India and England at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav made a significant impact by claiming two crucial wickets in his initial five overs, including that of England’s Ollie Pope, who managed just 11 runs.

Kuldeep’s delivery to dismiss Pope was a mesmerizing googly that left the English batsman completely bamboozled. Despite expecting a leg break, Pope found himself deceived as the ball turned sharply, evading his outside edge and leading to a sharp stumping by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel.
The day began with England choosing to bat first after winning the toss, and their openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett formed a promising partnership of 64 runs. However, Kuldeep’s introduction into the attack by captain Rohit Sharma changed the tide in India’s favor.
Kuldeep’s early breakthroughs left England at 100/2 at Lunch on Day 1, with Crawley standing firm at 61 and Joe Root yet to bat. England’s focus will now be on building a strong partnership to counter India’s bowling attack and stabilize their innings on a pitch that promises challenges for both teams.
