Sri Lanka’s selectors have announced a 17-player squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa, part of the ICC World Test Championship. The series begins with the first Test on November 27 at Kingsmead, Durban, followed by the second Test on December 5 at St. George’s Park, Gqeberha.

In preparation for the series, ten Sri Lankan players, including captain Dhananjaya de Silva, Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, and Prabath Jayasuriya, departed for South Africa last week. They are currently participating in a pre-series camp and training in Durban to better acclimatize to the conditions. Meanwhile, the remaining squad members are scheduled to travel to South Africa on November 22, thereby ensuring full readiness ahead of the series.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket has made adjustments to their ODI squad for the ongoing series. Selectors have rested Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Kamindu Mendis, and Asitha Fernando for the third and final ODI to help them recover and focus on the Test series. To fill their spots, they have included Nuwanidu Fernando, Lahiru Udara, and Eshan Malinga in the ODI squad. The final ODI takes place on November 19 at PICS, Pallekele.
The Test squad includes experienced players like Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, and Dimuth Karunaratne, alongside emerging talents such as Nishan Peiris and Milan Rathnayake.
