Sri Lanka has announced its playing XI for the first T20I against West Indies, set to take place on October 13th. This three-match series will take place at Dambulla Cricket Stadium, where both teams feature quality players and promise a competitive contest.

The opening pair for Sri Lanka will feature the dynamic duo of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis, while Kusal Perera will bat at three after a solid performance in the previous T20I series against India. Charith Asalanka, the team captain, will lead the middle order alongside Kamindu Mendis and returning Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
The star bowling trio of Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, and Matheesha Pathirana are also back, adding significant strength to the bowling attack. Young all-rounder Chamidu Wickramasinghe has been given an opportunity, while Asitha Fernando joins the squad following his impressive red-ball cricket performance. Nuwan Thushara misses out, despite his popularity in franchise leagues.

West Indies, coming off a strong performance against South Africa, will also look to make an impact in subcontinental conditions.
