Australian all-rounder Sophie Molineux will miss the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 season due to a knee injury. Molineux was instrumental in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) title-winning campaign in 2024, taking 12 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 23.16.

To replace her, RCB has signed England’s Charlie Dean, a talented off-spinner with significant experience. Dean has been a standout performer in The Hundred, representing London Spirit since the tournament’s inception. She has taken 18 wickets at an economy rate of 7.28. Additionally, the 24-year-old has excelled in international cricket, claiming 46 wickets in 36 T20Is at an impressive average of 18.19 and an economy rate of 6.91.
RCB has also retained several key players for WPL 2025, including captain Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Shreyanka Patil, Richa Ghosh, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, and Sophie Devine. These players will form the core of their squad as they aim to defend their title. At the WPL 2025 auction, RCB strengthened their lineup further by acquiring Prema Rawat, Raghvi Bist, Jagravi Pawar, and Joshitha V J.
The WPL 2025 season will begin in early February and end in the first week of March. The BCCI will soon release the detailed tournament schedule, building excitement for the season. With Charlie Dean joining their ranks, RCB looks well-equipped to make another strong title run.
