Lucknow Super Giants handed Gujarat Titans a setback in their chase of a 164-run target in Match 21 of IPL 2024 at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Lucknow Super Giants bundled out Gujarat Titans for 130 runs in 18.5 overs. The defeat by 33 runs left captain Shubman Gill visibly disappointed with the team’s batting performance against the formidable bowling attack led by Yash Thakur.

Addressing the post-match presentation, Gill expressed disappointment over the team’s batting display on a pitch that he deemed favorable for batting. Despite getting off to a decent start, GT faltered in the middle overs, failing to recover from the setbacks. Gill credited the LSG bowlers for their exceptional performance in restricting GT to a modest total, lamenting the missed opportunity due to the batting letdown.
Gill highlighted the absence of David Miller, sidelined due to injury in the last two matches, acknowledging Miller‘s potential to sway the game’s momentum. He emphasized the importance of capitalizing on opportunities, regretting his own dismissal while trying to seize control during the powerplay overs. Despite the setback, Gill commended his bowling unit for their commendable efforts and looked ahead to the upcoming fixture against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday (April 10) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
