Shubman Gill Fined for Slow Over Rate in IPL: GT, led by their new captain, the young Shubman Gill, entered the match aiming to bounce back from their opening loss. However, a setback hindered their pursuit of victory early on as Gill, in his first match as captain, received a hefty INR 12 lakhs fine for GT’s slow over rate during the March 26 match. This marked their first offense of the season under the IPL’s strict Code of Conduct regarding minimum over-rate offenses.

CSK, opting to bat first, capitalized on the opportunity with a strong batting performance. Openers Rachin Ravindra (46 off 20) and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (46 off 36) laid a solid foundation.
