In a recent interaction with reporters, Shaheen Afridi shared his enthusiasm for the challenge, calling the opportunity to lead the Lions a “thrilling experience.” He expressed confidence in his ability to contribute with both bat and ball, emphasizing the high-stakes nature of the tournament and his eagerness to lead a team filled with young and exciting talent.

Shaheen Afridi reminisced about his debut in the Champions One-Day Cup back in 2018 when he was just 18 years old, playing in Faisalabad. Now, returning with a wealth of international experience, the 24-year-old feels a sense of responsibility to guide the younger players on the team and create lasting memories for them.

The Lions squad boasts other prominent Pakistan stars, including Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, and Khushdil Shah. The tournament kicks off on September 12, with the Lions playing their first match on September 13 at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

Afridi’s leadership and all-round abilities will be pivotal as the Lions aim for success in this year’s edition of the Champions One-Day Cup.
