Sarah Glenn, the leg spinner for England women’s cricket team, will miss the rest of the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand women due to a concussion. The 24-year-old suffered the injury while trying to catch a ball during the third T20I against the White Ferns, landing heavily in the process. Despite bowling her next over, she was later replaced by Holly Armitage at the end of the innings. Glenn will also miss at least the first two ODIs of the ongoing series as she follows the ECB Graded Return to Play Protocols.

In Sarah Glenn’s absence, Sophie Ecclestone replaced her in the fourth T20I of the series. England, who recently concluded the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024, also saw the return of Danni Wyatt, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Alice Capsey alongside Ecclestone. However, as per an ECB statement, the squad has not called up a replacement for Glenn at this point.
Meanwhile, New Zealand women face their own challenges, with skipper Sophie Devine suffering a quad strain in the fourth T20I. This injury prevented her from batting, and she will undergo an MRI scan to assess the severity of the issue. Devine’s absence could impact the team’s performance, particularly as they strive to bounce back after winning just one T20I out of the four played so far in the series.
