As the IPL 2025 mega auction nears, fans are eager to see which players franchises will retain. Reports suggest that Rajasthan Royals (RR) have made crucial decisions, including retaining captain Sanju Samson and young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, while using the Right-to-Match (RTM) card for star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

Sanju Samson, in great form recently, will continue as RR’s captain. His brilliant century in the recent T20I series against Bangladesh further solidified his spot. Samson’s explosive batting and leadership make him an obvious choice as RR eyes success in IPL 2025. His performances will be key as the franchise looks to build a strong team under his guidance.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the 22-year-old opener, will also be retained. Despite a slightly underwhelming IPL 2024, where he scored 435 runs, Jaiswal is considered a future star. With proper guidance, especially from head coach Rahul Dravid, Jaiswal is expected to perform better in the upcoming season.
RR will also use their RTM card for Yuzvendra Chahal, a vital player since 2022. Chahal took 18 wickets in IPL 2024 and remains crucial to their bowling attack. His presence will provide stability in the spin department.
Additionally, Riyan Parag, who scored 573 runs in IPL 2024, will also be retained. Parag’s contributions with both bat and ball make him a valuable all-rounder for RR.
With officials like Dravid, Kumar Sangakkara, and CEO Jake Lush McCrum finalizing their strategy, RR aims to build a winning squad for IPL 2025 and capture their second title.
