Rishabh Pant briefly rejoined India’s training ahead of the 3rd T20I against Afghanistan, showcasing signs of recovery. The wicketkeeper-batsman engaged in animated conversations with former captain Virat Kohli and current skipper Rohit Sharma during the session. The crucial third match is scheduled at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, with India holding a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.

Anticipating a comeback for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the upcoming 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) edition, Rishabh Pant is currently undergoing recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Despite enduring multiple injuries from a car accident over a year ago, Rishabh Pant participated in shadow batting and received throwdowns during the training. In casual attire, including a Jordan t-shirt and black shorts, Pant interacted with various Indian team members.

However, concerns arose as Pant appeared less than fully fit, displaying a slight hobble during his time at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium nets. Pant had previously undergone three successful reconstructive surgeries, addressing injuries to all three key ligaments in his right knee sustained in the car crash.

While Pant shares regular fitness updates on social media, his physical condition remains a concern. Delhi Capitals retained Pant for the upcoming IPL season, and Sourav Ganguly, the director of cricket, expressed confidence in Pant’s return, confirming his participation in the IPL next season.

Having missed the entire IPL 2023, the ICC World Test Championship final, and the One Day International (ODI) World Cup, Pant, an explosive batter, last played for India against Bangladesh in December 2022. His international cricket record includes 33 Tests, 30 ODIs, and 66 T20Is for the national team.
