Rahul Dravid Refutes Media Reports: No Disciplinary Measures for Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer

Rahul Dravid, the coach of the Indian cricket team, provided insights into Ishan Kishan’s absence from the three-T20I series against Afghanistan, dispelling notions of a disciplinary matter. Speaking at a pre-match press conference in Mohali, Dravid clarified that Kishan’s non-inclusion stemmed from his current break, a break that the team requested and endorsed during the South Africa tour. Dravid stressed that there are no disciplinary issues in Ishan Kishan’s situation and highlighted that upon his availability, he will engage in domestic cricket before the team considers him for selection.

Disciplinary

In reference to Shreyas Iyer, Dravid acknowledged that Iyer faced tough competition among players, resulting in his exclusion from the playing XI. Dravid unequivocally refuted rumors of disciplinary measures against Iyer, clarifying that the decision to omit him from the squad is purely based on cricketing considerations.

Earlier reports from a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source hinted at the selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, exploring alternative options beyond Ishan Kishan.
