Pakistan is set to face Australia in the second ODI of their three-match series on Friday. After a narrow loss in the first ODI, led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan aims to bounce back. In the opener at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Pakistan posted a modest 203 runs. Despite their efforts, Australia clinched the game by two wickets, with Pat Cummins’ late cameo sealing the chase.

A significant boost for Pakistan comes as Naseem Shah, who exited the field due to cramps in the first ODI, has been declared fit for the upcoming clash in Adelaide. According to Cricket Pakistan, Naseem recovered and actively participated in Pakistan’s practice session, signaling his likely return to the lineup. His availability is crucial as Pakistan looks to keep the series alive.
In the first ODI, Naseem not only impressed with the ball but also contributed significantly with the bat. While Pakistan’s top order struggled, he smashed four sixes in a gritty 39-ball 40, helping Pakistan reach 203. Before his cramps forced him off the field, he bowled with control and dismissed Jake Fraser-McGurk, who had looked dangerous.
Naseem’s return could play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s quest to level the series, as his dual abilities with bat and ball have become essential to their white-ball strategy. His presence strengthens Pakistan’s chances in the must-win match at Adelaide.
