Beth Mooney’s masterclass with the bat and Australia’s dominant bowling secured a commanding 72-run victory over England in the third T20I at Adelaide Oval, extending their Women’s Ashes lead to 12-0. Mooney’s unbeaten 94 lifted Australia to 162 for 5 on a slow pitch, with Georgia Voll (23) providing the only other significant contribution. Leg-spinner Georgia Wareham then produced career-best figures of 3 for 11 as England were bundled out for 90, their second-lowest T20I total. Only Heather Knight (40) reached double figures for the visitors.

England’s spinners briefly contained Australia’s batters, with Alice Capsey and Sophie Ecclestone taking key wickets. However, Mooney broke free, accelerating after her fifty and dominating the innings despite wickets falling around her. Grace Harris’s six and Mooney’s sharp running between the wickets added crucial late runs. Mooney finished the series’ white-ball legs with 303 runs, well ahead of England’s best batter, Knight, who tallied 172.
Australia’s bowlers dismantled England early, with Darcie Brown, Annabel Sutherland, and Wareham reducing them to 39 for 5. Wareham’s double strike in the seventh over, dismissing Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Amy Jones, left England in disarray. Despite some fight from Knight, clinical Australian fielding—including sharp catches by Voll and Perry—sealed the collapse. Mooney, doubling as wicketkeeper, added two catches and a stumping to her stellar performance.
The victory highlights Australia’s dominance in the series, with a 16-0 sweep now within reach as they head into the day-night Test at the MCG. England, despite changes to their lineup, remain unable to break Australia’s stranglehold.
