Sri Lanka’s T20I squad for their Bangladesh tour has seen a change due to Kusal Perera’s unavailability, ruled out with a respiratory infection. In his place, Niroshan Dickwella will join the team, flying in on Saturday to link up with the rest of the squad, who departed for Bangladesh on February 29.

Dickwella’s return to the national side comes after a hiatus, having last played for Sri Lanka in March 2023, with his last white-ball appearance dating back to June 2022. Despite recent impressive performances in List A cricket, including consecutive fifties in the Men’s National Super League, his exclusion from the national team was due to a prolonged lack of form and past disciplinary issues, notably breaching bio-bubble protocols in 2021 along with Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunatilake.
In the absence of Wanindu Hasaranga, suspended for the first two T20Is against Bangladesh, Charith Asalanka will lead the side. The three-match T20I series will be held entirely in Sylhet, with the first game scheduled for March 4.
