Keightley expressed her excitement about the opportunity, saying, “The chance to be Head Coach of Northern Superchargers is a huge honour. I’m eager to build on the solid foundations laid over the last four years. The Hundred has revolutionized the women’s game, providing a brilliant platform for players to showcase their skills. Headingley has been a shining example of fan support, and I’m looking forward to being there next year.”

Keightley, who is also the head coach of Sydney Thunder in the WBBL and a member of the Delhi Capitals’ coaching staff in the WPL, brings a wealth of experience to the Superchargers. As a player, she represented Australia in nine Tests and 82 one-day internationals, making history as the first woman to score a century at Lord’s.

Sanjay Patel, Yorkshire’s interim CEO, welcomed Keightley’s appointment, highlighting her vast experience in international and franchise women’s cricket. He expressed confidence that her leadership would give the team the best chance of success in the 2025 competition.

Northern Superchargers Chair, Kirsty Bashforth, also shared her excitement, saying the appointment marks an important milestone in the competition’s fifth year, bringing new growth opportunities and international expertise. The team is focusing on retaining its core squad and making strong recruitments for the upcoming season.
