Sriram replaces Dwayne Bravo, who has moved to Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor. He brings extensive coaching experience, having served as Australia’s assistant coach from 2016 to 2022 before focusing on his role with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). In 2022, he became Bangladesh’s T20 consultant for the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. He later joined Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as an assistant coach for IPL 2024 and also worked as Bangladesh’s technical consultant before the ODI World Cup. Earlier in his coaching career, Sriram had a stint with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).

CSK’s spin department for IPL 2025 includes R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal, and Noor Ahmad, while Deepak Hooda and Rachin Ravindra provide additional spin options as allrounders.

CSK narrowly missed the playoffs in IPL 2024, finishing fifth with seven wins and seven losses in the group stage. They ended level on 14 points with fourth-placed RCB but missed out due to an inferior net run rate.

IPL 2025 begins on March 22, with defending champions KKR facing RCB in Kolkata. CSK will kick off their campaign the next day against Mumbai Indians at home.
