The Indian Premier League (IPL) will hold its mega auction in Riyadh on November 24 and 25. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet made a formal announcement, franchises have received informal updates about the schedule.

After last year’s auction in Dubai, officials decided to host the event in the Middle East again. They initially considered London and Singapore as possible venues, but Saudi Arabia emerged as the preferred choice because of its favorable time zone, which benefits broadcasting.
According to reliable sources, the BCCI and IPL officials are in the final stages of finalizing a venue that can accommodate the entire entourage, including representatives from the 10 franchises and a large crew from Jio and Disney Star, over the three-day event.
Though Saudi Arabia may be more expensive than Dubai, the BCCI believes it is crucial to explore new markets for the IPL, the world’s most popular cricket league, in order to expand its fan base.
With the auction date approaching, franchises are eagerly awaiting a formal notification from the BCCI regarding the venue. This information is essential for them to address logistical arrangements promptly, ensuring a smooth participation in this significant event.
