Jake Fraser-McGurk, the explosive Australian wicketkeeper-batter, will return to the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2025 season after the franchise used their Right to Match (RTM) card in a thrilling bidding battle with Punjab Kings. Initially, PBKS secured Fraser-McGurk for INR 5.50 crore, but DC quickly exercised their RTM, outbidding PBKS when they raised their offer to INR 9 crore.

Fraser-McGurk, whose base price was set at INR 2 crore, was first bid on by DC. Punjab Kings joined the fray, pushing the price to INR 5.50 crore, while Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) also showed interest. However, DC re-entered the bidding and clinched the deal at INR 9 crore, much to Punjab’s disappointment.
The Australian batter impressed during the 2024 IPL season, scoring 330 runs at an explosive strike rate of 234.04. His ability to take the game away from the opposition in a matter of moments makes him a valuable asset for DC in the upcoming season. Fraser-McGurk has also earned recognition with Australia, which only adds to his appeal as a long-term prospect for Delhi.
Delhi Capitals, with a purse of INR 73 crore, were active in the IPL 2025 auction, also acquiring big names like KL Rahul, Mitchell Starc, and Harry Brook. With Fraser-McGurk’s addition, DC has strengthened their batting lineup, making them a formidable contender for the 2025 IPL season.
