Rahul Dravid confirmed that the ongoing T20 World Cup will be his final stint as India’s head coach. He will not be reapplying for the position, making way for a new coach after June.

Dravid downplayed the significance of this being his last World Cup. He emphasized that every match has been important during his tenure and this won’t change. Despite a successful playing career and leading India to numerous World Cup semi-finals and a WTC final as coach, Dravid never secured a World Championship title.
While acknowledging the team’s consistency in reaching the knockout stages of major tournaments, Dravid admitted their struggles in finishing the job. He highlighted the need for better execution in crucial moments, particularly decision-making under pressure.
Dravid focused on the importance of adapting to different playing conditions and making key decisions with the bat and ball. He believes this will be more impactful than worrying about external expectations, even though he appreciates the support from fans. The team’s goal remains clear: to reach a position where they can win the tournament.
