The ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 will take place from July 19 to 28 in Sri Lanka, featuring T20 matches. This tournament provides an opportunity for Asian teams to experiment and refine their squads ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 later this year.

India Women’s Cricket Team has announced a 15-member squad for the tournament, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy. The team includes players like Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, Uma Chetry, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, and Sajana Sajeevan. Additionally, India has named four traveling reserves: Shweta Sehrawat, Saika Ishaque, Tanuja Kanwer, and Meghna Singh.
The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups of four. India is in Group A alongside Nepal, Pakistan, and UAE. India will start their Women’s Asia Cup campaign on July 19 against Pakistan. Subsequently, they will face UAE on July 21 and Nepal on July 23. The top two teams from each group will then advance to the semi-finals, with the final scheduled for July 28. All matches will be played in Dambulla.
