The BCCI Women’s Selection Committee has announced India’s squad for the 2025 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will take place in Malaysia from January 18 to February 2. Niki Prasad will lead the team, with Sanika Chalke named vice-captain. The squad also includes wicketkeepers Kamalini G and Bhavika Ahire, along with three standby players: Nandhana S, Ira J, and Anadi T.
India enters the tournament as a strong contender after winning the Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup. They defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs in the final, with G Trisha and Aayushi Shukla playing pivotal roles. Trisha scored 159 runs, while Shukla took 10 wickets. As a result, both players are part of the World Cup squad.

India, the defending champions, has been placed in Group A with Malaysia (hosts), West Indies, and Sri Lanka. They will play their group stage matches at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, beginning with the opening game against West Indies on January 19, 2025. Additionally, India will aim to build momentum throughout the group stage before advancing to the next phase of the tournament.
Tournament Format:
The tournament features a group stage, followed by the Super Six. In each of the four groups, there are four teams, and, as a result, three teams from each group will progress to the Super Six. Furthermore, the top two teams from each Super Six group will advance to the semi-finals, with the final scheduled for February 2.
