England’s Harry Brook has surged to fourth place in the ICC Test batting rankings, moving up three spots after scoring 56 and 32 in England’s 1-0 series lead against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford. Joe Root remains at the top, with Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell following. Brook’s rise has pushed Babar Azam, Steven Smith, and Rohit Sharma down, with Babar dropping to ninth after a disappointing performance in Pakistan’s first-ever Test loss to Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

Mohammad Rizwan, who shone with scores of 171 not out and 51 in the same Test, has climbed seven places to join Usman Khawaja at tenth. Saud Shakeel, who also scored a century, has moved up to 13th place.
Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim achieved a career-high rating, rising seven spots to 17th following his impressive 191 in their historic win.
In the bowling rankings, Sri Lanka’s Prabath Jayasuriya has moved up to ninth after taking five wickets in Manchester. Chris Woakes has gained one spot among Test allrounders, reaching eighth place, and has also climbed to 16th among bowlers following his match figures of 6 for 90.
In T20I rankings, Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies has advanced to ninth among batters after their 3-0 series sweep of South Africa. His teammates Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie have also seen significant gains, moving to second and third respectively among bowlers, just behind England’s Adil Rashid.
