Delhi Capitals secured a 25-run victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore in an action-packed match. Shafali Verma and Alice Capsey showcased their batting prowess, propelling Delhi Capitals to a formidable total of 194 for 5. Despite a valiant effort from RCB’s Smriti Mandhana, who scored an impressive 74 runs, the team fell short in their chase.

Shafali and Capsey’s stellar partnership set the tone for Delhi Capitals’ innings, with Shafali contributing four sixes to her half-century knock. Nadine de Klerk, filling in for the absent Ellyse Perry, made an impactful debut for RCB, claiming crucial wickets including that of Capsey. However, Delhi Capitals’ late surge, led by Jess Jonassen and Marizanne Kapp, proved too much for RCB to overcome.
In the chase, Mandhana’s aggressive innings provided hope for RCB, but Kapp’s effective bowling interventions, including dismissing Mandhana, sealed the victory for Capitals. Despite some resistance from RCB’s lower order, Jonassen’s clinical bowling in the final over ensured Capitals’ triumph, marking an end to RCB’s unbeaten streak in the tournament.
