Samit Dravid, son of former India coach Rahul Dravid, recently received his first call-up for the India Under-19 team for a multi-format series against Australia scheduled for September and October. His impressive performances in the Cooch Behar Trophy earlier this year earned him this opportunity. Despite this achievement, Samit will not be eligible to play in the 2026 Under-19 World Cup. Born on November 10, 2005, Samit will be 21 by the time the tournament occurs, exceeding the age limit for Under-19 players.

Interestingly, Rahul Dravid did not make the India Under-19 squad despite his inclusion for a series against New Zealand in 1992.
Samit will have his chance to showcase his talent in the upcoming Under-19 series against Australia, which begins with a three-game ODI series on September 21, followed by two four-day matches starting on September 30.
Recent Performances in Maharaja T20 2024
In addition to his call-up, Samit has made headlines with his performances in the Maharaja T20 2024. Playing for the Mysore Warriors, he has scored 82 runs as a middle-order batter with a strike rate of 114. His standout performance this year came in the Cooch Behar Trophy, where he accumulated 16 wickets and 362 runs in eight matches for Karnataka.
