In the latest ICC Test batter rankings, Virat Kohli has fallen out of the top 20 for the first time in nearly a decade, dropping to the 22nd position. His decline came after a disappointing performance in the Test series against New Zealand, where he struggled with the bat. Kohli had been in the top 20 since 2014, making this a significant dip in his ranking.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant has been rewarded for his strong performances in the Mumbai Test against New Zealand, where he scored twin fifties. Pant has moved up to the sixth spot, his highest ranking in Test cricket. Alongside him, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has also seen a rise, climbing to seventh place.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, despite dropping one position, remains the highest-ranked Indian batter in the Test rankings, sitting at number four. England’s Joe Root continues to dominate, leading the rankings with 903 rating points, while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson is second with 804 points. Harry Brook, who has been in good form, is just ahead of Jaiswal by a single point, while Steve Smith holds the fifth spot.
In the Test bowler rankings, Ravindra Jadeja has made a notable climb, moving up two places to number six after his stellar performance in the Mumbai Test, where he took 10 wickets. Kagiso Rabada remains at the top, followed by Josh Hazlewood, Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who round out the top five bowlers.
