Tushar Deshpande Ready for Ranji Trophy; Boost for Mumbai Pacer Ahead of IPL 2025 Auction

Deshpande, a promising talent, made a strong impression during Mumbai’s title-winning campaign in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season, claiming 15 wickets in five matches. His performances not only helped Mumbai clinch the title but also led to his T20I debut for India in a series against Zimbabwe. Unfortunately, he suffered an ankle injury after his international debut, requiring specialized treatment.

The BCCI facilitated his surgery in London in September, and since returning to India, Deshpande has focused on his rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Encouraging reports from TOI confirm that he is fully fit and ready to resume competitive cricket.

Deshpande returns to form at a crucial time, entering the 2025 IPL auction pool after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) released him despite his strong performance in IPL 2024. With his impressive recent record, he is likely to attract significant interest, with CSK reportedly considering using a Right to Match (RTM) card to retain him.

During his T20I debut, Deshpande claimed his maiden international wicket by dismissing Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza, setting up the wicket with skill. Raza, batting on 46 off 29 balls, top-edged the ball, which Shubman Gill caught, marking an exciting start to Deshpande’s international journey and signaling a promising career ahead for the 29-year-old pacer.
