The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revamped its central contract structure, categorizing players into five grades—A+, A, B, C, and D—replacing the previous format-based contracts, as per Cricbuzz. Notably, Shakib Al Hasan, who had an all-format contract last time, has been excluded. The 2025 contract list includes 22 players, blending youth with experience.
Taskin Ahmed Secures A+ Contract

According to Cricbuzz, discussions were held over Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim’s inclusion in the contract list. Eventually, both made the cut, with Rahim placed in A Category and Mahmudullah in B Category.
Surprisingly, Taskin Ahmed is the only player in the A+ Category, ahead of key figures like Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who are in A Category. Litton Kumar Das, despite being dropped from Bangladesh’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad, is also in A Category.
The B Category consists of experienced players like Mominul Haque, Mustafizur Rahman, and Taijul Islam, alongside young talents such as Towhid Hridoy and Nahid Rana.
In C Category, players like Soumya Sarkar, Shoriful Islam, and Rishad Hossain find a place, along with emerging names like Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Jaker Ali Anik.
The D Category includes only two players—left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed and pacer Khaled Ahmed, who has struggled with injuries.
