MS Dhoni, a CSK legend, is on the verge of becoming the highest run-scorer for the franchise in IPL history. He has amassed 4669 runs in 202 innings, just 19 runs short of surpassing Suresh Raina’s record of 4687 runs in 171 innings. A solid performance with the bat could see Dhoni claim the top spot.
Dhoni is also close to achieving a remarkable milestone behind the stumps. The veteran wicketkeeper has taken 148 catches for CSK. Just two more catches will take him to 150, and with five dismissals, he will complete 200 dismissals for the franchise, highlighting his exceptional wicketkeeping skills.
Another record within Dhoni’s grasp is becoming the first player to score 1500 IPL runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium. He has accumulated 1469 runs in 59 innings at this venue, with Raina leading the chart with 1498 runs in 55 innings. Dhoni needs 31 runs to surpass Raina and etch his name in Chepauk’s record books.
