Bangladesh has made a change to its squad for the upcoming three-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka, with wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali Anik being recalled to replace injured spinner Aliss Al Islam.

Team physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan stated that Aliss sustained a finger injury while representing Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), estimating a recovery period of two to three weeks, which consequently rules him out of the series.
Jaker Ali Anik, 26, showcased strong performances for Comilla this year, scoring 199 runs in two matches with a strike rate of 141. His inclusion is seen as a move to bolster the middle or lower-middle order and provide finishing capabilities.
The decision to bring in Jaker was made by the selection panel chairman Gazi Ashraf Hossain, who opted not to replace Aliss with another spinner. Instead, they believe that Jaker’s addition will enhance the team’s balance.
Bangladesh’s squad for the T20 series includes experienced players like Najmul Hossain Shanto, Liton Das, Mahmudullah Riyad, alongside promising talents such as Mohammad Naim and Mustafizur Rahman.
The series against Sri Lanka kicks off on Monday in Sylhet, marking the beginning of a month-long tour that will also feature three One-Day Internationals and two Tests.
