During Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 match against the United States on Thursday, skipper Babar Azam became the top run-scorer in Men’s Twenty20 Internationals. He breached Kohli’s 4038-run mark with a four off Nosthush Kenjige, who had earlier dismissed Usman Khan.

Azam initially struggled, scoring 10 runs off 24 balls before hitting his first boundary off the last ball of the 10th over, bowled by Jasdeep Singh. He was eventually dismissed for 44 off 43 balls by Jasdeep in the 16th over, having helped Pakistan recover from early trouble.
