Following Pakistan’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024, the team is planning significant changes for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. Reports indicate that they will rest Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi to give opportunities to fresh talent.

Under the leadership of Captain Shan Masood and new head coach Jason Gillespie, discussions on the Test squad have intensified. The selection committee is focusing on balancing experience with new energy in the lineup.
For the batting lineup, Saud Shakeel, Abdullah Shafique, Salman Ali Agha, and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed are in contention. In the pace department, potential candidates include Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mir Hamza, Khurram Shahzad, and Aamir Jamal.
Interestingly, Pakistan is not considering Haris Rauf for this series, hinting at a possible strategic shift in their approach.
The two-Test series against Bangladesh, part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-2025, holds significant importance for Pakistan cricket as they aim to regroup and perform better.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam and five other Pakistan players have opted to stay in London for a brief holiday before returning home.
