The report by Geo News states that the PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has expressed keen interest in involving former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali in either the selection committee or the high-performance center of the board.

Azhar Ali, renowned as one of Pakistan’s finest Test cricketers, boasts an impressive record with over 7000 Test runs. After announcing his retirement from Test cricket in 2022 following his last series against England, Ali brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Making his international debut at Lord’s Cricket Ground against Australia in 2010, Azhar quickly made an impact, scoring his maiden Test half-century in his second match. Over his illustrious career, Ali played 97 Tests for Pakistan, amassing 7142 runs at an average of 42.46, including 35 half-centuries and 19 centuries.
Azhar Ali etched his name in history by becoming the first Pakistani batsman to score a triple century in a day-night Test match against West Indies in Dubai in 2016. His unbeaten knock of 302 runs remains his highest score in Test cricket. Additionally, he had the honor of captaining Pakistan’s Test team in nine matches between 2016 and 2020.
