Under Pat Cummins’ leadership, the Australian cricket team has achieved significant success, winning major trophies like the World Test Championship and the 50-over World Cup in India. Despite these accomplishments, a surprising number of Australians seem unaware of their cricket stars.

In a recent viral video, a content creator conducted street interviews in Australia, asking citizens if they recognized World Cup-winning cricketers like Pat Cummins and Travis Head. The responses were shocking: most people had no idea who these players were. The video begins with a simple question, “Have you heard of Pat Cummins or Travis Head?” While some ignored the question, the majority were clueless about the players who have brought pride to their country.
Interestingly, towards the end of the video, an Indian-origin man admitted he knew of Virat Kohli but had no idea who Pat Cummins was. The video quickly gained traction online, sparking reactions from cricket fans. One user commented, “What a shame for ICC, cricket is dying in Australia.” Another sarcastically noted, “There’s a saying in Australia that the second most important post after PM is their Cricket Captain. Very surprising to see so many haven’t heard of Pat Cummins.”
With Australia’s recent exit from the T20 World Cup, they are yet to play a series. Their next challenge will be against Scotland and England in a white-ball series starting next month, further testing Australia’s cricket team after their recent successes.
