Ashwin Joins Elite Club with Kohli After Dominant Performance in His 100th Test Against ENG

India secured a commanding victory over England in the fifth and final Test match at Dharamsala, triumphing by an innings and 64 runs.

Initially, there were doubts about India’s ability to dominate the English side after the first match. However, the subsequent four Test matches highlighted India’s unwavering determination and resilience.

In the spotlight of the final Test was Ravichandran Ashwin, who marked his 100th Test appearance with a stellar performance, solidifying his status as one of India’s most revered spin bowlers.

Ashwin’s mastery was evident as he clinched a five-wicket haul in the second innings, adding to his illustrious career and equaling the esteemed record held by Virat Kohli with 59 victories for the national team.

With a total of 516 wickets from 189 innings and 36 five-wicket hauls at an average of 23.75 and an economy rate of 2.81, Ashwin’s bowling prowess shines through. Additionally, his contributions with the bat, amassing 3309 runs at an average of 26.26, highlight his value as a genuine all-rounder.

Following the fifth Test, the Indian team will have a hiatus from national duty until the selection committee finalizes the squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2024. However, fans can still enjoy their favorite cricketers in action during the highly anticipated 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, starting on March 22nd.
