Anmolpreet Singh, the Punjab top-order batter, has etched his name in the record books by scoring the third-fastest List A century. His remarkable 35-ball century places him at No. 3 on the all-time list, only behind Jake Fraser-McGurk (29 balls) and AB de Villiers (31 balls).

Anmolpreet achieved this feat while playing for Punjab against Arunachal Pradesh in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Ahmedabad. Coming in at No. 3 after captain Abhishek Sharma’s early dismissal, he dominated the Arunachal Pradesh bowling attack. With 11 fours and eight sixes, Anmolpreet reached his century in just 35 balls. Among the bowlers, left-arm spinner Hardik Verma was the most economical at 9.52, but Anmolpreet was particularly harsh on offspinner Techi Neri, who conceded 31 runs in a single over.
Thanks to Anmolpreet’s explosive knock, Punjab chased down Arunachal Pradesh’s total of 164 in just 12.5 overs, winning by nine wickets. Anmolpreet finished with 115 runs from 45 balls, adding one more six and one more four after reaching his century. Prabhsimran Singh, the other unbeaten batter, contributed 35 runs off 25 balls.
AB de Villiers holds the record for the fastest List A century, having scored 149 in 44 balls for South Africa against the West Indies in 2015. The record was later surpassed by Fraser-McGurk’s 29-ball century in 2023.
Anmolpreet, who has previously played for Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, went unsold in the latest auction despite his impressive performance in domestic cricket.
