Akeal Hosein has climbed to the top of the ICC T20I bowling rankings after an impressive performance against Bangladesh. Hosein’s 2 for 13 in the opening game in St. Vincent helped him surpass Adil Rashid, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Adam Zampa, all fellow spinners. This rise highlights his growing influence in the T20I format.

In the T20I batting rankings, Babar Azam moved up one spot to sixth, while his captain Mohammad Rizwan slipped to eighth after their series in South Africa. Reeza Hendricks made a significant jump, climbing six places to rank ninth following his explosive 117 off 63 balls in Centurion during the second T20I.
On the Test rankings front, Joe Root has regained the No. 1 position among batters after scores of 32 and 54 in England’s heavy defeat to New Zealand in Hamilton. This comes just a week after his teammate Harry Brook briefly claimed the top spot with stellar performances in Wellington and Christchurch. Brook has now dropped back to second place following scores of 0 and 1 in Hamilton.
Kane Williamson, currently ranked third, inched closer to Root’s 895 rating points with his magnificent 156 in Tim Southee’s farewell Test. Notably, his knock marked his 33rd Test century and, moreover, reaffirmed his standing as a premier batsman.
Among Test bowlers, Matt Henry rose to seventh after delivering figures of 4 for 48 and 2 for 62 in New Zealand’s win in Hamilton. England’s Gus Atkinson also made strides, moving to eighth among Test all-rounders with contributions of 43 runs and four wickets in the same Test.
These rankings reflect the dynamic nature of international cricket, showcasing players’ remarkable achievements across formats.
