Rashid Khan Praises Team’s Performance

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rashid Khan hailed Afghanistan’s impressive win over New Zealand and commended his batsmen for setting a competitive total of 159 runs. He particularly acknowledged openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran for their pivotal 103-run partnership at the start.

“It was a great performance from us. The way they played, showing patience and not losing wickets early, was crucial. Our strategy was to accelerate in the last 10 overs, assessing match-ups and options. The energy from Gurbaz and Zadran was exceptional, and we gave our all in every ball,” Rashid Khan remarked.

Rashid Khan also highlighted the contributions of fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi, who took 4-17 with the new ball, setting up Afghanistan’s victory. “Farooqi’s early breakthroughs were crucial, allowing our spinners to attack from the outset,” he added.
