Following their commanding victory over Tamil Nadu in the semifinal at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai has secured a place in the final of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season.The iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the final match, beginning on March 10.
In the semifinal, Mumbai outclassed Tamil Nadu by an innings and 70 runs, showcasing their dominance in the competition. The victory has set them up for a showdown in the summit clash against either Vidarbha or Madhya Pradesh.
Throughout the tournament, Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership has been instrumental in Mumbai’s success. They topped the Elite division group stage with an impressive 37 points from seven matches.
In the quarterfinal, Mumbai faced Baroda at the BKC and secured their spot in the semifinals on the basis of a first innings lead, further solidifying their position as a formidable contender in the tournament.
This appearance in the final marks Mumbai’s 47th time competing for the prestigious Ranji Trophy, highlighting their rich history and dominance in First-Class domestic cricket.
