Jalen Williams delivered a season-high 33 points, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 104-97 win over the Miami Heat on Friday night, securing their seventh consecutive victory. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 25 points, and Lu Dort chipped in with 14 points to help the Thunder improve to 22-5, the second-best record in the NBA and the best in the Western Conference.
Isaiah Hartenstein was also instrumental in the win, contributing 13 points and a career-high 18 rebounds. Oklahoma City’s impressive streak remains intact, as their loss to Milwaukee in the NBA Cup final doesn’t count as a regular-season game.
Miami was led by Tyler Herro, who scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Bam Adebayo posted 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat faced adversity throughout the game, losing Jimmy Butler to illness in the first quarter and briefly losing Adebayo in the third due to an elbow injury from teammate Jaime Jaquez Jr. Adebayo received seven stitches but returned to the game.
The Thunder capitalized on Miami’s mistakes, turning 19 turnovers into 27 points. Oklahoma City trailed by three midway through the third quarter but went on a 10-0 run to take control, entering the fourth with an 11-point lead.
Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored at least 25 points for the 17th consecutive game, the longest such streak in the NBA this season, continues to lead his team with outstanding performances.
The Thunder will next host Washington on Monday, while Miami heads to Orlando on Saturday.
