Yamcha, once a key character in Dragon Ball, gradually faded into the background as the Saiyans took center stage with their transformations and battles. However, one of Yamcha’s most memorable traits early in the series was his fear of women—a struggle that seemed ironic for someone as good-looking as him! But why was he so nervous around them? 🤔
💥 From Desert Bandit to Bulma’s Boyfriend 💘

Yamcha first appeared in:
📖 Manga: Chapter 7 (Yamcha and Pu’ar)
📺 Anime: Episode 5 (Yamcha the Desert Bandit)
Initially, he was an enemy, attempting to rob Goku and Oolong, but after learning about Goku’s lineage, he decided to join the group. His attraction to Bulma played a big role in his decision to change. However, despite his feelings, he struggled to talk to her due to his fear of women! 😨💘
As they traveled together, their relationship grew, with Bulma making several attempts to flirt with him. While he eventually overcame his fear to some extent, their relationship ended due to Yamcha’s alleged infidelity. Ironically, Akira Toriyama once joked that Yamcha lost a job at a host club because of his fear of talking to women! 🤣
👀 Did Yamcha Ever Date Again?

After his breakup with Bulma, Yamcha remained single for most of the series. However, in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, he is shown dating two women at the same time—who eventually dump him after learning the truth. 🤦♂️ In Super Dragon Ball Heroes, he even gets engaged to Vidro, a survivor of the Glass Tribe! 💍
🔥 Enter Prince Vegeta! 👑
Bulma eventually fell in love with Vegeta, married him, and had children. Surprisingly, Yamcha never showed anger over their relationship, proving his maturity. He remains friends with both Bulma and (probably) Vegeta—though it’s hard to tell what Vegeta really thinks of him! 😂
😅 Why Was Yamcha Afraid of Women?

The Dragon Ball series never officially explained his fear. However:
🔸 He was only 16 years old when introduced, and it’s normal for teens to feel anxious around people they like.
🔸 His fear made for good comic relief and balanced out his strong warrior persona.
🔸 While Toriyama mentioned he never fully got over it, Yamcha matured as the series progressed.
Even though he’s no match for Saiyans, Yamcha continued training and fighting for Earth’s safety—at least, when he wasn’t… well, dead. 💀😂
