Record of Ragnarok Season 3 is officially in production. A new studio has joined the production, and the team has made major staff changes. They also released a teaser visual and trailer. The anime’s first season debuted in 2021, followed by a split-release second season in 2023. Both seasons are streaming on Netflix, where Season 3 will also premiere.
New Studio and Staff for Season 3
Graphinica, the studio behind the first two seasons, is no longer credited. Instead, Yumeta Company, which previously assisted in production, will now collaborate with MARU Animation. The main staff changes include:

- Director: Koichi Hatsumi (replacing Masao Okubo)
- Main Writer: Yasuyuki Muto (replacing Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Yuta Yamada)
- Character Designers: Yoko Tanabe, Hisashi Kawashima (replacing Masaki Sato)
- Music: Yasuharu Takanashi (returning from previous seasons)
- Animation Production: Yumeta Company x MARU Animation
Teaser Hints at Qin Shi Huang vs. Hades
The first visual and trailer tease an intense showdown between Qin Shi Huang, the legendary Chinese emperor, and Hades, the King of the Underworld. The creators also confirmed that Nikola Tesla’s techniques will be animated in this season.
Creator Comments and Special Illustration
Shinya Umemura (story) and Takumi Fukui (story structure) thanked fans for their support, expressing excitement for how new battles will be adapted. Series illustrator Azychika also released a special illustration featuring Qin Shi Huang and Hades to commemorate the announcement.

Serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon since 2017, Record of Ragnarok has sold over 18 million copies. The story follows humanity’s last stand against the gods in a tournament-style battle to prevent extinction.
