As the January transfer window heats up, speculation around footballers’ futures continues, with Manchester United and other Premier League clubs featuring heavily in the latest rumours.
Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting is reportedly one of Manchester United’s key targets, with manager Ruben Amorim said to be eager to secure the Swedish forward’s services, according to the Daily Star. Gyökeres has worked under Amorim before, and the manager is believed to be keen on bringing him to Old Trafford sooner rather than later. In addition to Gyökeres, Amorim is also said to be looking for another goalkeeper to challenge André Onana.
In terms of departures, Casemiro’s future at Manchester United is increasingly uncertain. The Brazilian midfielder remains a target for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, which could see him reunite with his former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo. Alongside Casemiro, Victor Lindelöf and Christian Eriksen are reportedly also among those who could be moved on as United looks to reshape its squad.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to attract interest from Real Madrid, with the La Liga giants preparing a £20m bid for the England right-back after a previous offer was turned down. Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation has kept him in the headlines, with Madrid eager to secure his signature.

Arsenal are also in the mix for potential moves, with Kieran Tierney being linked with a return to Celtic. Tierney left the Scottish side for Arsenal five years ago, but now, with Bukayo Saka sidelined, the Gunners are looking for cover in the full-back position and may revisit the idea of Tierney’s return. Arsenal are also said to be interested in forwards, with Randal Kolo Muani reportedly on their radar.
Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira is reportedly a target for Marseille, according to The Times, while Barcelona’s Dani Olmo continues to be in high demand, despite ongoing registration issues at his current club.
On the transfer front, Manchester City has reportedly ruled out moves for both Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubímendi and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães. Additionally, Jake O’Brien, who has struggled for game time at Everton, will not be loaned out, according to The Daily Mail, and Matheus Cunha of Wolves, who has had a turbulent start to the season, will not be allowed to leave as the club is reportedly working on a new contract for the Brazilian forward.
With a flurry of movement expected, the transfer window promises to be a busy one for clubs looking to make the right moves ahead of the second half of the season.
